Okullarda Problem Çözmede Kanıta Dayalı Yaklaşım

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı okul müdürlerinin örgütsel problemleri çözmede kanıta dayalı yaklaşımı kullanma durumlarını incelenmektir. Araştırma okul müdürlerinin problem çözme süreçlerine yönelik algı ve farkındalığını belirlemeye yönelik olarak olgubilim desenine göre tasarlanmış nitel bir çalışmadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini Ankara ili merkez ilçelerinde bulunan resmi ortaokullarda görev yapan okul müdürleri arasından ölçüt örnekleme ve maksimum çeşitlilik örneklemesine göre belirlenen 10 okul müdürü oluşturmaktadır. Okul müdürlerinin örgütsel problemleri çözmede kanıta dayalı yaklaşımı kullanma durumlarını belirlemek amacıyla standartlaştırılmış açık uçlu görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Okul müdürlerinin okulun teknik, yönetsel ve kurumsal boyutlarında yaşanması olası, her boyutta daha önce oluşturulmuş iki problem durumu olmak üzere toplam altı örgütsel probleme ilişkin tanımlama, veri ya da kanıt üretme ve probleme uygun çözüm arama yaklaşımları gibi kurgusal ya da yaşantıya dönük düşünce ve görüşleri incelenmiştir. Verilerin analizinde nitel çözümleme tekniklerinden betimsel analiz kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonuçları okul müdürlerinin genellikle problemin tanımlanması sürecinde bilimsel yöntemlere uygun hareket etmediklerini, göreli olarak az sayıda okul müdürünün yerel-durumsal kanıtları, başka kişi veya örgütlerden elde edilen verileri ve karardan etkileneceklerin bakış açılarını değerlendirdiklerini ortaya koymaktadır. Bununla birlikte katılımcılardan hiçbiri problem çözme sürecinde araştırma kanıtlarını kullandığını belirtmemiştir. Söz konusu bu çalışmanın bulguları okul müdürlerinin kararlarını çoğunlukla kişisel uzmanlık, geçmiş yaşantı, deneyim veya yargılarına dayandırdıklarına işaret etmektedir.
