Bu araştırmanın amacı; öğretmen adaylarının bilimin doğasına ve STEM’e yönelik görüşlerinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmada, nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden betimsel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini Marmara Bölgesi’nde bir ilde bulunan bir üniversitede fen bilgisi öğretmenliği, sınıf öğretmenliği ve okul öncesi öğretmenliğinde, 3 ve 4. sınıflarda öğrenim görmekte olan toplam 499 öğretmen adayı oluşturmuştur. Araştırmanın sonuçları incelendiğinde, bilimin doğası ve FeTeMM farkındalık ölçeği arasındaki ilişkinin pozitif yönde, düşük düzeyde olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca öğretmen adaylarının bilimin doğası konusunda bilgi eksiklerinin ve kavram yanılgılarının olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. STEM’e yönelik görüşlerinin ise olumlu yönde olduğu ancak bu konuda bilgi eksikliklerinin olduğu belirlenmiştir.
The aim of this study; is to examine the teacher candidate’s views on the nature of science and STEM awereness. Descriptive survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the research. The sample of the study consisted of 499 teacher candidates who are being educated science teaching, classroom teaching and preschool teaching in a university located in the Marmara Region. When the results of the study were examined, it was found that the relationship between the nature of science and the STEM awareness was positive and low. In addition, statistically significant results were determined in some sub-dimensions of the scale of opinion regarding the nature of science according to family income level, gender, grade point average, grade level and departments. In some sub-dimensions of STEM awareness scale, statistically significant results were determined according to gender, grade point average, grade level and departments.
