Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı
lise öğrencilerin sürdürülebilirlik bilinç düzeylerini ortaya koymak, bununla
birlikte cinsiyet, yaş, sınıf seviyesi, okul türü, anne ve babanın eğitim
seviyesi gibi değişkenlerle SB düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir.
Araştırmaya, Türkiye’nin Batı Karadeniz bölgesinde bulunan orta derecede
sosyo-ekonomik gelire sahip bir ilinde bulunan yedi liseden toplam 1459 öğrenci
gönüllü olarak katılmıştır. Katılımcılara Michalos, Creech, Swayze, Kahlke,
Buckler & Rempel (2012) tarafından geliştirilen, Gericke, Pauw, Berlung
& Olsson (2018) tarafından güncellenen, Yüksel & Yıldız (2019a)
tarafından Türkçe’ye uyarlanan orijinal adı “Sustainability Consciousness
Questionnaire” olan Sürdürülebilirlik Bilinci Ölçeği (SBÖ) uygulanmıştır. Sonuç
olarak öğrencilerin “orta” seviyede SB’ne sahip oldukları, öğrencilerin büyük
çoğunluğunun (% 74) SB kavramından haberdar olmadıkları, SB kavramı ile ilgili
bilgi sahibi olanların bu kavramı daha çok internetten duydukları, kız
öğrencilerin SB düzeylerinin erkek öğrencilere oranla daha yüksek olduğu, 14-15
yaş ve 9. sınıfta yer alan öğrencilerin SB düzeylerinin daha düşük olduğu,
annesi ilkokul, yüksek lisans/ doktora ve babası ortaokul, yüksek lisans/
doktora seviyesinde mezun olan öğrencilerin SB düzeylerinin daha yüksek olduğu
görülmüştür.
