The purpose of the research is to
study the effect of cognitive behavioral therapy that is applied to university
students that have depressive symptoms. Beck Depression Scale has been applied
to 203 students who are being educated at university. 20 students that have the
highest depressive symptoms have been chosen. Two groups have been created as
10 students for experimental group, 10 students for control group that has
similar arithmetic mean and standart deviation. During 8 weeks, group
counseling activities have been applied sessionally to experimental group. By
the end of the sessions, Beck Depression Scale have been applied. According to
the results of the research, it has been approved that group counselling that
is cognitive behavioral therapy based has decreased the depressive symptoms of
students remarkably.
Araştırmanın amacı
depresif belirtileri olan üniversite öğrencileriyle yapılan bilişsel davranışçı
terapi temelli grupla psikolojik danışmanın öğrencilerin depresif belirtileri
üzerine etkisini incelemektir. Üniversitede öğrenim gören 203 öğrenciye Beck Depresyon
Ölçeği uygulandı. Depresif belirti düzeyleri en yüksek olan 20 öğrenci seçildi.
Öğrencilerin gönüllülük onayı alındıktan sonra 10 öğrenci deney 10 öğrenci
kontrol grubu olacak şekilde aritmetik ortalamaları ve standart sapmaları
birbirine yakın iki grup oluşturuldu. Deney grubuna 8 hafta boyunca oturumlar
halinde grupla psikolojik danışma etkinlikleri uygulandı. Oturumların bitiminde
Beck Depresyon Ölçeği uygulandı. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre üniversite
öğrencileriyle yapılan bilişsel davranışçı terapi temelli grupla psikolojik
danışmanın öğrencilerin depresif belirtilerini anlamlı bir biçimde düşürdüğü
ortaya kondu.
