EĞİTİMDE SINIF OTURMA DÜZENİNİN ÖNEMİ

Abstract

Eğitim öğretim faaliyetlerinin sağlıklı bir şekilde yürütülmesi birçok değişkenin doğru ve birlikte bulunması ile mümkündür. Okulun fiziki koşulları, sınıfın alanı, öğretmen ve materyaller, öğretim yöntemleri gibi sınıf içi etkinliklerin sağlıklı yürütülebilmesi için oturma düzeni de önemlidir. Öğretmenlerin bakış açılarıyla oturma düzenin öneminin araştırıldığı bu olgubilimsel çalışmada, maksimum çeşitliliğe dayalı olarak farklı okul türü ve farklı branşlarda çeşitliliğin sağlandığı 50 öğretmen ile yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılarak veri toplanmış ve verileri içerik analizi yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmanın bulgularına göre çalışmaya katılan öğretmenlerin yarısı (f=25, %50) yarım daire oturma düzenini kendi sınıflarında tercih ettiklerini belirtmişlerdir. Yine öğretmenlerin çoğunluğuna (f=30, %60) göre rahat iletişim imkanı sunan, dikkati öğretmen ve arkadaşlarına yönlendiren, kimsenin kendi önüne geçmediği ve tahtayı rahat görebilme olanağı sunan yarım daire oturma düzeni öğrenci katılımını sağlamaya en elverişli oturma düzeni olarak görülmüştür. Öğretmenlerin çoğunluğu (f=38, %76) yarım daire oturma düzeninin etkileşim ve iletişimi artırdığını ifade etmiştir. Yüz yüze iletişimin olması, göz teması sağlamayı kolaylaştırması, herkesin birbirini rahat görebilmesi yarım daire oturma düzenini iletişim ve etkileşim için uygun oturma düzeni haline getirmektedir. Öğretmenin öğrencileri rahat görebilmesi ve gerektiğinde daha kolay müdahale edebilme olanağı olan yarım daire oturma düzeninin sınıf yönetimine olumlu katkı sağladığı görüşü öne çıkmıştır. Öğretmenlerin çoğunluğu (f=27, %54) yarım daire oturma düzenini aktif katılım sağladığı, dinlemeyi kolaylaştırdığı, fikir alışverişini desteklediği, etkileşim ve iletişim için uygun olduğu için öğrenci başarısını artıran oturma düzeni olarak belirtmişlerdir.
